What is it about taking risks "pushing the envelope" that has us hyperventilating? I refer in this case specifically to jewelry and accessories. Most of us continue to remain defined by a narrow spectrum of conformity but wonder why the excitement that jewelry and accessories offers, alludes us. Perhaps, we feel overwhelmed by the possibility that we too, could be our authentic selves.
I remember playing "dress-up" for hours with every single piece of my benevolent mother's jewelry as a 5 year old. Every piece inspired a character and a story!
Jewelry presents an opportunity to do just that- to tap into some aspect of our personality that deserves a stage.
What is it about the carefree nature of a 5 year old playing dress-up without fear of the judgement or criticism of others that we long to revisit? but more importantly how do we get back there? and how do we as women begin to re-embrace who we truly are or have matured into?
For me personally, the most memorable

moments come during interactions with women where I am privy to glimpses of this process unfolding. Many are outwardly conservative and restrained in their choice of accessories but inwardly daring, bold, sassy and adventurous but still fathoming how to integrate these aspects of their personality into what many of us have bought into as "appropriate."

Start with one piece that catches your eye even if it is slightly outside your comfort zone and wear it with everything. You'll start to feel more confident wearing bolder pieces of jewelry and ALWAYS have fun with it! rules are made in our heads.
